The council has put a stop order on our building project!
But there is always a silver lining and mine is I’ve started working simultaneously on two projects. The first is a re-edit of my unpublished novel Drowning in Light Seas a thriller set in cyberspace. The second is a new Science Fiction novel called Weatherwitch that is still in the first draft stage. It’s been a relief to get my teeth into some writing again.
Below are brief summaries of each project.
The year is 2500 and the world has been decimated by extreme weather. Water wars, plagues and sea level rise have laid waste to the earth and only pockets of humanity survive.
Weatherwitch is the story of Janey, Rachel’s daughter. She is tested and accepted as an apprentice weatherman. The weathermen have been genetically engineered to be able to affect weather on the quantum level and after an apprenticeship, wander the world helping scattered communities. But superstition and distrust of their powers is rife. As Janey begins her training, extremists surround the Weathermens’ Enclave and their adepts fall into comas. It is up to Janey and five young apprentices to undertake a journey into the heart of enemy territory to restore the fallen Weathermen.
I wrote Drowning in Light Seas nearly ten years ago and have decided to publish it on Kindle and Smashwords. It is an exploration of the seductiveness of different realities when the real world falls apart.
Leah knows her husband is unfaithful, but Max’s philandering escalates, and becomes more than she can ignore. She goes on a rampage of destruction and Max walks out on her. On investigation she finds her dear husband has left her penniless. In despair she turns to an internet fantasy world and finds herself embroiled in dark secrets and far flung lives.
